Dr. Jodi Yanagida grew up in Ewa Beach, Hawaii, where she spent her early years enjoying the beaches of Oʻahu. She moved to Nebraska to pursue her undergraduate degree in chemistry at Creighton University and a master’s degree in biomedical sciences. She went on to earn her medical degree from A.T. Still School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona and completed her internal medicine residency at St. Luke’s Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. After several years serving as a hospitalist in Alton, Illinois, Dr. Yanagida went on to complete her fellowship training in nephrology at Indiana University School of Medicine.

Dr. Yanagida has a long-standing interest in research, spanning cancer biology and kidney disease. Her graduate studies focused on skin cancer biology, which she continued investigating at the University of Hawaiʻi Cancer Center prior to medical school. During medical school, she completed a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Summer Medical Fellowship in Boulder, Colorado, where she studied mechanisms of cell death in osteosarcoma cells. Most recently, during her nephrology fellowship at Indiana University, she investigated pathways involved in sepsis-induced acute kidney injury.

Dr. Yanagida looks forward to working with the experienced team at Pikes Peak Nephrology to provide exceptional care for every patient. She is guided by the belief that the best medicine blends science, empathy, and a commitment to lifelong learning.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Yanagida enjoys spending time outdoors, exercising, and watching HGTV. She is excited to explore the beauty of Colorado with her husband and two daughters.
